Medicaid ID Rule takes effect

I’m not sure what impact this will have in Alaska, except to add paperwork. The state of Alaska shoved as much of their Medicaid obligations to rural citizens as possible onto the Feds through the mechanism of closing all rural state programs and getting the tribal corporate health consortia to pick them up directly. This was supposed to save the state budget.

State-by-state figures for the total number of citizens who are covered by Medicaid and thus would be required to prove their citizenship are available in a Center [on Budget and Policy Priorities, a Washington-based research group] report….
