Marilyn from Virginia posted a request for ideas at an earlier post about “Brookdale Foundation RFP National Group Respite Program” I thought it would be helpful to post it separately.
i’M DOING AN ART/CRAFT THERAPY PROGRAM IN OUR RESPITE CARE CENTER– FOR 14 MONTHS i HAD $110. WHAT DO OTHERS FIND HELPFUL WHEN THERE IS NO MONEY?
It sounds to me she needs help with ideas to raise awareness about the program’s importance so the community can help with in-kind contributions, and also with cash donations.
I’m sure that state and federal grants have been included. Brookdale Foundation grants would seem to be an important resource, especially as a way to develop institutional capacity to find reliable resources for such a program. But with a 100% matching cash requirement and only $110 in the budget, the grant wouldn’t go far.
Are there other small foundations or corporations that would be able to provide reliable, long-term cash grants? (Predictability of resources can be as important as the resources themselves for programs.) I’ll try to locate more information.
Post ideas as comments. Thank you.
