Resource for Visually Impaired
A small group of talking book librarians from nine states around the country are providing a virtual reference service called the InfoEyes Service, and the website for information on this national service is http://www.infoeyes.org/ [posted on HealthLiteracy 934]….

InfoEyes is a question and answer service for people with a visual impairment or other print limitation. You can ask a question about anything! Welcome to the InfoEyes Ask a Librarian service, a web-based reference service that helps libraries deliver reference services via e-mail and chat. InfoEyes is brought to you by your library. We will attempt to respond to your question within 48 hours.

It does require an Internet connection and an E-mail address. Appointments for the chat room are made via E-mail. Sounds counter-intuitive. However, the iVocalize software says it is a voice-over-Internet-protocol (VOIP) or audio / telephone program, so maybe once past the initial typing the service is vocal ?
