Webpage reader for Firefox

Paul Hamilton – Free Resources from the Net for (Special) Education

features some very interesting tools for Internet (especially world-wide web) users.

Firefox , like Opera , is a user-friendly and safer browser than MS Internet Explorer.

This Firefox extension is essentially a screen reader that works seamlessly when browsing with Firefox so the user always has a live view of the web page…. For those of us who are light dependent, Fire Vox offers a very helpful feature. It highlights text that is being read. This is great for sighted educators. It may also be useful for individuals with low vision.

For all the sighted users who petitioned me to create a simplified, mouse driven reader with icons and who were only using Fire Vox because there was no other reader available, I present to you: “CLiCk, Speak.”

CLiCk, Speak is aimed at users who prefer to use a point-and-click interface and is built from the same underlying CLC libraries as Fire Vox.

Glad it is useful. I tried it but don’t need it so haven’t kept it in FF.

I see you in your Tweets that you are interested in what thoughtful Alaska bloggers have to say.
