During 2001–2003, the annual rate of nonfatal, medically attended fall injuries for adults aged >65 years was 52 per 1,000 population. Adults aged >85 years had the highest rates of injuries from falls; in that age group, rates were similar for men and women. However,
among adults aged 65–74 yearsand 75–84 years, the rate of fall injuries was higher for women than men.
According to the error bars on their graph, only the 75 to 84 years group had sexual differences. Data such as this should lead to questions — e.g., what are contributing factors?
